I've had this grinder for several months now and it has worked really well. Fill it up with coffee beans and it makes an entire 12-cup pot of coffee. One time I had it on for too long and it stopped working. I thought it was broken. But a few minutes later it started working again. It must have an automatic overheating shut off mechanism. Bought this to replace the Hamilton Beach Coffee & Spice Grinder(HB) I bought several months ago to grind things like egg shells, flax seeds, etc. So the features for its replacement had to be a) no twisting in order to get the lid/cap to lock in place in order for it to grind, b) grinding bowl had to be removeable for cleaning, and c) only need to push down to start grinding. I am really happy with this purchase. I grow many herbs and make my own spices. I love that this grinder came with two stainless steel bins so that I can do multiple herbs at a time without having to wait for it to be washed and dried. The stainless steel is nice to be able to just toss in the dishwasher too and not have to worry about warping, etc. The canisters are a good size too. This is my second grinder, hope it's as good as the first. First grinder lasted about 5 years, with fairly heavy use, which I think is great for the price. I never tried it for coffee, but use it for grating parmesan, nuts, small batches of pesto, chopping or pureeing whatever needs chopping. Mostly I'm cooking for two, and the full-size processor is too big. This little one is perfect.
