Compared to pricier options, the SABRE Frontiersman MAX is a steal at under $50. It's not often you find such powerful protection at this price point. I've been testing it for almost a month on my hikes, and I've got to say, the range is impressive – I could feel the pepper mist from 30 feet away during one of my practice sessions.

However, while the canister itself feels robust, I wish the safety cap was a bit easier to remove with gloved hands. A minor inconvenience given its lifesaving purpose though. Overall, it's a fantastic bang-for-buck product that offers peace of mind on those long, lonely trails.
