Our Experience

After reading countless reviews and comparing various benchtop planers, I opted for the DEWALT DW734. The 12-1/2-inch capacity was crucial for my projects, and its 20,000 RPM cutter head promised efficient stock removal.

Upon arrival, assembly was straightforward, taking me less than half an hour. Out of the box, it handled a 6" maple board beautifully, delivering a smooth finish with minimal snipe. The three-knife cutterhead performed exceptionally well, cutting evenly and consistently throughout the week I tested it. My minor critique is that the dust collection could be improved; while it does collect some debris, larger chips still scatter around.

Overall, this DEWALT planer lives up to its reputation for durability and performance. Its robust build quality ensures precise cuts, making it an excellent addition to any workshop seeking a reliable tool for resawing and surfacing tasks.
