My son recommended these. He uses them with his big green egg to handle hot coals. I use them to turn or reposition steaks on the charcoal grill and large pieces of meat on the smoker. With the smaller pieces of meat such as lamb chops or the average ribeye these gloves provide great heat protection but not much dexterity especially when trying to pick up a piece of meat from the grill.
