I was skeptical at first about splurging on this KYOKU cleaver knife, given its price point. I've had my fair share of cheaper knives that just didn't last. But after using it for two weeks, I'm pleasantly surprised.

The thing that really stood out to me is the weight and balance of this knife. It's heavier than your average kitchen knife, but that actually makes it feel more solid in hand. The way it's forged gives it a nice heft without being unwieldy. It sliced through vegetables like a dream, even with my less-than-perfect technique.

My only minor critique is the slightly larger handle size. While I have large hands and appreciated the grip, anyone with smaller hands might find it too bulky. But overall, I'm glad I took a chance on this knife. It's held up well so far, and if taken care of properly, I think it'll be a long-lasting addition to my kitchen.
